CENTER HOST

Location: Maury River Senior Center, Buena Vista

Days/Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 8:30- a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

POSITION:

Develops, plans, schedules, implements, and leads Senior Center programs for older, active adults; exercises administrative functions that support Senior Center programming.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates must enjoy working with older adults, have storng compiter, communication, organization, and time managment skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in senior activities preferred.

PART-TIME VAN DRIVER

Location: Harrisonburg Senior Center
Days/Hours: 7:30 am - 2:00 pm Monday, Wednesday

POSITION:
Working under the direction of the Center Director, the van driver is responsible for safely transporting center members to and from HSC; ensure vehicles are in working order and remains current with routine maintenance and inspection, and accurately complete mileage and maintenance paperwork. VPAS Van Drivers also assist with packaging HDM's as well as serving congregate meals and kitchen clean up using safe food handling practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must enjoy working with older adults, have a safe driving record, exhibit safe driving practices, and work well in a small team environment.

SUBSTITUTE VAN DRIVER

Location: Elkton and Harrisonburg Senior Centers

Days/Hours: as needed

POSITION:

The Substitute Van Driver provides transportation to and from the Senior Center and other destinations for individuals 60 years and older who do not have other transportation available.  The Substitute Van Driver uses safe driving practices and provides coverage when the Van Driver is not available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be able to work independently, and have good time management skills to follow the schedule provided. Applicants must have good verbal communication skills.  Employment is contingent on a satisfactory DMV, Criminal Background, and Drug and Alcohol Screening checks, as well as completion of the VPAS Health Care provider authorization form.
