VPAS, the local Area Agency on Aging, has empowered those 60 years and older with the resources and opportunities they need to lead engaged lives since 1974.  Our focus is on helping individuals and caregivers successfully navigate the changes and challenges that come with aging.  VPAS' Senior Leadership Team embraces employee feedback and input for improving the services we offer in the community in order to be relavant and timely.

Substitute Van Driver

POSITION:
The Substitute Van Driver provides transportation to and from the Senior Center and other destinations for individuals 60 years and older who do not have other transportation available.  The Substitute Van Driver uses safe driving practices and provides coverage when the Van Driver is not available.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be able to work independently, and have good time management skills to follow the schedule provided. Applicants must have good verbal communication skills.  Employment is contingent on a satisfactory DMV, Criminal Background, and Drug and Alcohol Screening checks, as well as completion of the VPAS Health Care provider authorization form.

Kitchen Substitute
 
Location: Valley Program for Aging Services, 325 Pine Ave., Waynesboro
Hours: as needed, Monday thru Thursday, 6a.m. – 1:30p.m.
 
POSITION: Helps prepare, package, and serve meals for the Waynesboro Senior Center and area Meals on Wheels deliveries; helps wash dishes and maintain a clean sanitary kitchen; and performs other routine and administrative kitchen tasks. Full position description available upon request.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Experience working in a food service environment recommended. Must have good communication skills and to be able to work well as part of a team. Criminal Background check will be conducted.
