SUBSTITUTE VAN DRIVER
Location: Elkton and Harrisonburg Senior Centers
Days/Hours: as needed
 
POSITION:
The Substitute Van Driver provides transportation to and from the Senior Center and other destinations for individuals 60 years and older who do not have other transportation available.  The Substitute Van Driver uses safe driving practices and provides coverage when the Van Driver is not available.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be able to work independently, and have good time management skills to follow the schedule provided. Applicants must have good verbal communication skills.  Employment is contingent on a satisfactory DMV, Criminal Background, and Drug and Alcohol Screening checks, as well as completion of the VPAS Health Care provider authorization form.

MRHC ADMINISTRATOR

Maury River Home Care Administrator
Location: Maury River Senior Center, 2137 Magnolia Avenue, Buena Vista, VA 24416
Hours/Days:  Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
The Maury River Home Care Administrator reports to the VPAS Executive Director and is responsible for ensuring compliance with Virginia Department of Health licensing requirements and with VPAS and MRHC policies and procedures; managing MRHC services to ensure provision of highest quality care, participating in on-call rotation with other administrative and nursing staff, ensuring client charts are completely and properly maintained through regular internal audit, scheduling, chairing, and maintaining records of required quarterly Quality Improvement meetings, ensuring that contracted obligations are met, ensuring that information pertaining to Long Term Care insurance policies is submitted accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that client billing, recording and deposit of client payments, and any needed collection communications are timely and accurate, ensuring end of month paperwork is timely and accurately submitted or entered into the appropriate program, contributing to the continuing revision of the MRHC Policy Manual, developing and implementing new programs and services with ED approval, identifying opportunities and resolving issues in existing programs, attending required trainings and meetings, and other duties as directed by the ED.

Qualified applicants will have prior experience working in a busy office environment, have skills in good communication, time management, use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications, and record keeping, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team. To comply with Virginia Department of Health licensing requirements, the Administrator must have at least one year's experience working with older individuals.

KITCHEN ASSISTANT
Location: Maury River Senior Center, Buena Vista, VA
Hours/Days:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
The Kitchen Assistant helps to ensure that congregate meals are plated for MRSC members, packaged for Meals on Wheels (MOWs) recipients, and kitchen tasks are fulfilled in compliance with VPAS policies and procedures. The Kitchen Assistant also provides substitute transportation for MRSC members and fulfills transportation operations when needed.

Qualified applicants will have prior experience working in a food service environment, good communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

SUBSTITUTE VAN DRIVER

Location: East Rockingham Senior Center
Days/Hours: As needed, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
POSITION:
Working under the direction of the Center Director, the substitute van driver is responsible for safely transporting center members to and from ERSC; ensure vehicles are in working order  and accurately complete mileage and maintenance paperwork. VPAS Van Drivers also assist with packaging HDM's as well as serving congregate meals and kitchen clean up using safe food handling practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must enjoy working with older adults, have a safe driving record, exhibit safe driving practices, and work well in a small team environment.
