VPAS, the local Area Agency on Aging, has empowered those 60 years and older with the resources and opportunities they need to lead engaged lives since 1974.  Our focus is on helping individuals and caregivers successfully navigate the changes and challenges that come with aging.  VPAS' Senior Leadership Team embraces employee feedback and input for improving the services we offer in the community in order to be relevant and timely.

Team Support Specialist

LOCATION: Harrisonburg VPAS Office

DAYS/HOURS: Monday – Friday between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.  Days and number of hours vary based on part-time or substitute position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Team Support Specialist (TSS) provides support as needed for programs including Meals on Wheels (MOWs), VPAS Cafes, Aging with Confidence; and transportation to Cafes and/or to medical appointments or other destinations in the Harrisonburg Rockingham region.  The TSS is responsible for vehicle checks and maintenance under the supervision for the Nutrition and Transportation Manager.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates must have excellent driving skills, customer service, communication, organization and time management skills; and be able to work independently and as part of a team.  Attention to detail, compliance with confidentiality rules, and sensitivity in working with vulnerable populations are a must.

Meals Support Specialist

Help us deliver nutritious meals to our VPAS Cafes and to home-bound seniors. 

VPAS is accepting applications for a part-time Meal Support Specialist.

DAYS/HOURS: At the beginning the hours are 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday – Wednesday.  As service expands, Thursday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be added.

LOCATION: Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Meals Support Specialist will package meals by routes, transport meals to Cafes and Meals on Wheels (MOW) volunteer pick up locations, and deliver assigned clients on our MOW routes.  They will also provide substitute coverage for the Meals Coordinator when the Meals Coordinator is not available to work.  The position is responsible for vehicle checks and maintenance for the VPAS vehicle used for transport.

Team Support Specialist

VPAS is accepting applications for a part time Team Support Specialist in our Southwest Region. This  This Region covers Buena Vista City, Lexington City, Rockbridge County, Highland County and Bath County. This team member will support our Transportation, Nutrition, Cafes and Aging with Confidence programs. 

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm. Days and number of hour vary based on the transportation schedule. 

Position: The Team Support Specialist provides support as needed for programs including Meals on Wheels, VPAS Cafes, Aging with Confidence and Transportation to Cafes and/or medical appointments in the Southwest Region. The Team Support Specialist is responsible for vehicle checks and maintaining maintenance logs under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator.  

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have excellent skills in the following areas: driving, customer service, communication, organization and time management. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail, compliance with confidentiality rules, and sensitivity in working with vulnerable populations is a must.
